LITANY OF THANKSGIVING
COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS INSTEAD OF YOUR CROSSES, COUNT YOUR GAINS INSTEAD OF YOUR LOSSES. COUNT YOUR SMILES INSTEAD OF YOUR TEARS, COUNT YOUR COURAGE INSTEAD OF YOUR FEARS. COUNT YOUR JOYS INSTEAD OF YOUR WOES, COUNT YOUR FRIENDS INSTEAD OF YOUR FOES. COUNT YOUR FULL YEARS INSTEAD OF YOUR LEAN, COUNT YOUR KIND DEEDS INSTEAD OF YOUR MEAN. COUNT YOUR HEALTH INSTEAD OF YOUR WEALTH, COUNT ON GOD INSTEAD OF YOURSELF.
Come Holy Spirit
Replace the tension within me with a holy relaxation. Replace the turbulence within me with a sacred calm. Replace the anxiety within me with a quiet confidence. Replace the fear within me with a strong faith. Replace the bitterness within me with the sweetness of grace. Replace the darkness within me with a gentle light. Replace the coldness within me with a loving warmth. Replace the night within me with Your day. Replace the winter within me with Your Spring. Fr. James Moriarity
PRAYER FOR CHILDREN
Dear Lord, how great it is, the way You made children the treasures they are. I applaud Your creativity! Your sense of humor! Your love for life and humans like me! Thank You for the kids You have put in my life. I commit to receive the youngest, the most insignificant, as I would receive You, were You to visit me. I love You Lord; give me grace to love little ones, and to learn from them. Amen. Barbara Johnson
A PRAYER FOR MARRIED COUPLES
“Dear God, unite us in faith, standards of morality and mutual trust. Help us to quickly come to mutual agreements about our finances, our children, how we spend our time and any other decisions that need to be made. Adjust our perspectives to align with Yours. Make our communication open and honest so that we avoid misunderstandings. May we have the grace to be tolerant of each other’s faults, and at the same time have the willingness to change. Help us to be a team and not live two separate lives. Remind us to take time for one another so that our marriage will be a source of happiness, peace and joy for both of us. Amen.
TIME
You keep us waiting. You, the God of all time want us to wait for the right time in which to discover who we are, where we must go, who will be with us and what we must do. So thank You for the waiting time.
You keep us looking. You, the God of all space want us to look in the right and wrong places for signs of hope, for people who are hopeless, for visions of a better world that will appear among the disappointments of the world we know. So thank You for the looking time.
You keep us loving. You, the God whose name is love want us to be like You, to love the loveless and the unlovely and the unlovable; to love without jealousy or design or threat, and most difficult of all to love ourselves. So thank You for the loving time.
And in all this, You keep us through hard questions and with no easy answers; through failing where we hoped to succeed and making an impact when we felt we were useless; through the patience and the dreams and the love of others and Jesus Christ and His Spirit, You keep us. So thank You for the keeping Time. Amen
REMIND ME, LORD
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that You are powerful enough to single-handed
handle all of my problems, no matter,
how large, how small, how complex or how simple.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that You are stronger in every way
than my strongest enemies.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that You are mightier than any bad wishes against me.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that You are my protector.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that I don’t have to fear anyone.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that You are capable of helping me with anything;
I feel overwhelmed by, I feel helpless about,
I feel anxious about, or I feel defeated by.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that You are my helper.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that I don’t have to fear anything.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that Your love is greater
than any love I’ve ever known.
Greater than my mother’s love.
Greater than my Father’s love.
Greater than my sister’s love.
Greater than my brother’s love.
Greater than my best friend’s love.
Greater than my spouse’s love.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that You loved me before
I was a twinkle in my parent’s eyes.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that no matter what I have done,
You still love me.
You may not be pleased with my actions or choices,
but none-the-less, You still love me.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that I don’t have to be deserving
of Your love but, You love me anyway.
Remind me, Lord. I keep forgetting,
that I don’t have to earn Your love.
Remind me, Lord, I keep forgetting,
that Your love has always been
and will always be with me,
whether I recognized it or not.
Remind me, Lord, I keep forgetting,
that Your love is unconditional.
Remind me, Lord, I keep forgetting, that I can rely on Your love.
